YogaBears is incredibly pleased and honoured to have been a part of the first ever Liverpool Retail Awards this year, which took place on Thursday 23rd March. Retail has undoubtably had an amazing impact on Liverpool’s economy over the past few years, which has aided in our city’s rise to one of the top retail destinations in the whole of the UK. Liverpool’s economy is the fasting growing in the UK, excluding London, and its retail sector is rapidly evolving, with new brands regularly emerging around the city.
Hosted by the entertaining BBC Radio DJ Dev in the beautiful setting of the Anglican Cathedral, the event was hailed a huge success, and there are already plans in the works for next year. Both retail giants, such as John Lewis and Marks and Spencer, and independent boutiques were celebrated on the evening. As well as a three course meal and reception drinks, attendants were also treated to a spectacular dance routine from Liverpool’s Born Rare dance troupe, who also took to the stage during the announcement of category nominees armed with the retailer’s iconic bags. Liverpool’s own talented up and coming artist, 18-year-old Tayá, also performed two songs beautifully.
We felt that it was important for YogaBears to get involved in the first ever Retail Awards this year, in order to introduce our business to those in Liverpool’s retail community who may not have been familiar with us. As well as offering Yoga Classes to both children and adults, we also have a retail portion of our business where we sell physical yoga bears. Our bears come in various colours, and each depict, represent and promote a specific positive mood or attitude. We are delighted to have sponsored the Retail Manager of the Year Award, which went to the deserving Lee Didsbury from Wilko.
